JOB TITLE: Care Assistant
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Registered Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Home Care Worker at Nexime Healthcare, you will provide a personalized Care Service to our service users, enabling them to lead as independent a lifestyle as possible. Your role will involve a program of personal care and household management tailored to each individual’s Care Plan. Care duties will include assisting service users with the following activities while always observing and respecting their dignity, privacy, and independence:
- Personal Care:
– Assisting with dressing and undressing/preparing the service user for Day Care or outings.
– Supporting with washing, bathing, showering, grooming, cleaning teeth, and shaving.
– Providing hair care (washing and brushing).
– Offering nail care (fingernails only).
– Assisting with toileting and all aspects of personal hygiene.
– Managing continence and care of pressure sores under appropriate nursing supervision.
– Helping service users get in and out of bed.
– Assisting with the use of Aids to Daily Living/Rehabilitation Aids as required.
– Supporting rehabilitation programs as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
– Providing day, evening, or night sitting services as needed.
– Assisting service users in taking prescribed medication.
- Dietary Care:
– Preparing snacks and meals according to service users’ likes and dislikes.
– Assisting with feeding as required.
- Domestic / Household Services:
– Performing general cleaning duties, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing.
– Making beds and clearing refuse and rubbish.
– Laundering, hand-washing, ironing, and light needlework as needed.
– Managing fuel supplies.
– Shopping and assisting with the preparation of shopping lists and budgeting.
– Performing light gardening tasks (subject to prior agreement in the Care Plan).
- Personal Services:
– Assisting with personal finances, including paying bills and collecting pensions.
– Supporting personal planning for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
– Facilitating democratic rights, such as assisting with voting cards.
